Start simple - try comparing the hash files from Windows and Linux for a single folder with 1-2 files inside.
Also, remember that Linux is by default case sensitive, while Windows usually doesn't care filename case.
Just tested in a VM in order to exclude the possibility of having some stray SSE2 shared library in my path... it still crashes.

I belive you're mistaken here. Since i get this crash, there must be a SSE2 instruction somewhere in the binary.
